today was fun!
i met up with my cousin yiling for lunch with my parents and my grandmother and my aunt.
we went to imperial treasure XIAO LONG BAO &LAMIAN!
ate like 5 xiaolongbaos.
mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!
anyway, i was "abandoned" by my parents so i went out shopping with my couz.
it was fun.
she brought me to the MAKEUP STORE which is co-owned by our aunt(who is from jakarta),
and i got my eyebrows plucked/trimmed.
it cost my couz 15 bucks.
hahaha!
anyway, the people there were really nice,
maybe partly coz they knew our mothers.
so anyway, i was like sitting in front of the mirror and the salesgirl was like plucking my eyebrows.
and i was tearing.
seriously! i was tearing.
it was like my tears had a mind of their own.
i just couldn't control them.
and the salesgirl handed me a tissue.
how thoughtful of her.
i was feeling so embarrassed, then i realised that the salesgirl must have seen alot of tears. anyway, so i stopped feeling embarrassed and started to feel painful and sympathetic towards myself for being a girl.
i mean, i don't even cry when i fall and bruise myself badly.
seriously, guys should NEVER complain about their gender.
trust me guys, u don't wanna be a GIRL.
and to transexuals, what were u thinking???!!!
so anyway, i just kept tearing and tearing non-stop, that i was sure i made the salesgirl feel guilty.
i'm also sure that i caused my couz some emotional distress seeing me tear,
coz she told me.
anyway, moving on,
after the emotional and painful incident,
my couz went to get some icecream,
my treat, coz she paid the 15 bucks for my torture.
then fast forward till we left marina square mall and entered the esplanade.
we went there coz we were meeting serene, who is my god-cousin, since she is my cousin's god-sis.
b4 that, we were just hanging ard while i ate my tiramisu icecream(!) which was delicious, btw.
and i saw this beautiful bag at one of the cart kioks.
but it was the last one left and it was in bad shape, so my couz was like bargaining with the salesgirl.
neither side budged, so i ended up gorgeousbag-less. (!!!!)
which was pretty sad, considering i'm quite a critic at bags.
i guess, i'll just go back someday after praying hard enough that there is new stock.
fast forward again.
now i'm at the esplanade library, and we've met serene and her piano teacher, angelina.
then we had yam cha and my couz booked the practice room at the esplanade library.
in case u don't know what a practice room is,
its a small room where u can book for 6 bucks per hour to play the piano.
they've got 2 pianos in there, one electronic one & the other a classical one.
the view was magnificent, it was overlooking the singapore river.
but i thought the reclaiming/oil dreger machine thing in the middle of the river kinda spoiled everything.
anyway, we ended up spending like 1&1/2 hours in there just playing all sorts of songs.
and people outside were looking in and wondering what we were doing.
the room wasn't sound-proof.
so at ard 8pm, we went to makansutra to have our dinner.
dinner was good.
we had fried prawn mee, egg carrot cake and satay.
the satay & the egg carrot cake was to die for.
i want to go back there someday.
then we sat and talked and chatted all the way till 10pm and we left.
whew, what a day.
had so much fun. which is pretty amazing, considering the people i hanged out with were in their 20s.
no offence guys. (:
i think i am going to start watching full house, since i hear soooo many people watching it.
serene told me the storyline & i find it quite interesting.

well, well, well...
while some of you were sleeping, eating, playing, shitting or picking your nose,
I, joanne played hide and seek with my iPod.
see, my dad confiscated my iPod (probably due to one of his mood swings. Parents, you know them.) and i spent the a bit of my night looking for it.
my parents were out to one their friend's birthday party at some fancy schmancy hotel restaurant, i know, an adult still having birthday party?
imagine sitting there in some uncomfortable clothes you squeeze into just to look good and sipping on some drink and engaging in some intellectual conversation with a total stranger you've just met like a few minutes ago.
talking about, i don't know, i'm still a kid.
anyway, where was i?
oh, ok, so after my dad confiscates my iPod, he leaves for the PARTY,
and i launch my MISSION-CONFISCATED-IPOD.
finding things that my dad hides is never difficult, hah, its almost too simple that you'd think he'd do way better.
it usually takes me a few minutes to find my object, but hey, i'm not bragging. (:
anyway, i go into their bedroom and start searching.
you know, the regular places, like their bedside tables, cabinets and so on so on.
but to no avail.
i even thought maybe my dad's getting good at this hiding business that he may have even locked it in the safe or in my mum's bedside table which is locked.
i even used my hairpin to try to unlock the drawer.
hehheh.
but still cannot!
so i start to curse and swear ( well, not really, but its like a phrase isn't it?) and then it was then i spotted another drawer nearby.
and i still remember what went through my mind as i opened that drawer.
"if i could just find it right now in this drawer, i would be a genius!"
and there it was! nestling quietly amongst the rest of the stuff in the drawer.
it wasn't even hidden properly.
TSK.
haha. and that isn't even the best part,
i decided to take my iPod with me, since that was what i launched this mission for and....
oh, this is so exciting...
and, REPLACE IT WITH A FAKE LOOKALIKE ONE!!!!!!
hahahaha, isn't that exciting and clever of me?

i don't like holland village.
well, ok, only the new hawker centre.
i know, its supposed to be new right?
but no... i went there thinking that i will be having a great experience of eating at a new hawker centre, since frankly i have never eaten at a newly built hawker centre.
so, i went there all jolly and happy ready to settle on having a great dinner.
and i ordered western.
my FIRST MISTAKE!
i should have known better than to trust cheena and i mean pure china people to take my order in english.
well, how would i have known?
if they put their menu in english, then its only right to assume that they understood english perfectly right?
so yea, i picked chicken CUTLET and went back happily to my seat.
then i went to collect and what was i given?
chicken CHOP!
see the difference?
ok, so fine, that could have been due to human error which clearly these smart alec cheena people have.
so i asked the cheena woman, "uh, auntie, this is chicken cutlet right?" (in chinese though)
and the auntie said YES!
when obviously its NOT!
see? that's where i got super pissed.
but instead of blowing my top, i calmly took my plate of chicken CHOP back to eat.
then i forgot that i didnt take my cutlery so i went back to take.(i was sitting v near to the shop)
when i went back, a woman who was standing next to me when i collected my chicken CHOP was telling the cheena auntie," you know that's not chicken CUTLET right?"
and the cheena auntie shrugged.
she SHRUGGED!
how dare she.
so, i glared at her.
and she didnt react.
AHHH...
she really has no position to open a WESTERN shop in holland v with her husband when obviously she has simply NO command of any england at all.

second problem the next store i went was HYGIENE.
it was a drink store that sells soya bean.

i just wanna apologise to the entire creative company(if they even read my blog).

what a day i've had.
musta sneezed like around 100 times.
i think i have a weak immune system.
despite the healthy food, organic stuff that's been down my throat since a few years ago when my mum decided to go all 'healthy'.

anyway, i finally couldn't take it and went home in the middle of remedial.
my eyes were all watery and my nose couldn't stop running.
thanks amanda for sending me out all the way to the gate although i know u just wanted an excuse to slack from remedial. (: but still thanks.

well, as i was on bus31, staring through the window as the rain poured relentlessly.
and my mind just began to wander into its own world, and i remembered an incident a few years back.
i used to like this guy when i was young and we were out as a group with several other friends.
then we were in the midst of some activity when it started raining.
i went out in the rain for some reason, and that guy shouted at me to get back into the shelter.
and as i was in the bus trying my best not to fall asleep, i figured,
if a guy would do something like that, it should definitely mean that at least he cared right?
hard to imagine, but this guy is now someone whom i barely talk to anymore.
he keeps his distance from me, and i do the same.
and the funny thing is, i don't feel the least bit crushed or dejected.
but its hard to move on too, since i know its impossible for anything to happen.

hmm, a bus ride home on a rainy day really sets a person thinking, since the rain and the gloomy, hovering dark clouds set the whole melancholic and yet cosy ambience.
or at least that's how i feel.

it confirmed that i am not going to the Jason Mraz concert which is part of the wonderful Mosaic festival.
the tickets are sold out!
i logged into sistic one day and there is was .
all the prices were striked out in RED.
like blood.
and it wasnt even because my mom didnt allow me, if that happened, i would still have a chance to change that, but this damn freaking sistic tickets thing, i cant.
i feel totally powerless that i cant absolutely cant do ANYTHING about it.

went for dinner today with my parents at telokayer.
we ate at a friends restaurant called "grandmother's house"
the food was nice. it was traditional but nice.
then we stopped at a nearby flea market and looked at some stuff.
my mum got so caught up at the FIRST stall and bought some stuff there.
my dad continued browsing thru other stalls and he saw a stall selling old pictures of singapore in the 5os.
and there was the picture of amber road in the kampung days.
amber road is where i stay, for those who don't know.
this picture cost $1.20, and i thought it was interesting so i decided to buy it.

cool eh? imagine, maybe i am living on that piece of land.

havent been blogging for some time.
i attended this course by adam khoo learning technology group on wed, thurs and fri.
it was frm 830 to 9pm.
gary, danny and wayne were great trainers.
esp. gary, he was the more popular trainer among us.
cause he was the funniest of all.
on the first day when he first came in, he made us laugh till we cried.
literally.
it was jokes after jokes after more jokes.
we were laughing for a few hours straight.
but he was the one who also made alot of us cry, even some guys.
so yea. he's good,
he can both make u cry and laugh straight after that.
danny on the other hand was the 'shuai' one.
not bad looking, he looked intellectual and bad boy at the same time.
wayne, he wasnt too bad.
although he wasnt very funny or whatsoever,
but he was still a nice guy.
the course was similar to what i attended some time ago.
but that was ernest wong.
both companies used the same methods,activities and principles.
so for me it was like going through the course again.
so i was sitting thru the whole thing like a pro, reading the trainers' mind, knowing what they were going to say next.
it was kinda like deja vu.
heh.
anyway, it was good. i enjoyed myself though there were times when i was bored or tired so i just sat there in my seat stoning and letting my mind wander godknowswhere.
on the last day, at some point of time, me and fellicia became bored and decided to entertain ourselves.
we played tamagotchi.
no, not the real electronic one, stupid.
but we did one on paper.

i went to dinner with my mom last nite, and now i know where i want to work at after my Os.
FISH & CO.! (which is where i went to eat, duh)
the coolest seafood restaurant that is so so cool.
reason:
1. they have those ultra nice polos that has sea themed catchphrases
2. jeans are allowed to work
3. its located in the nice malls
4. they have free copies of JUICE which is only the coolest magazine that unfortunately does not hit the newsstands
5. only the young people are working outside the kitchen
6. i like their restaurant decos and the menus

i'm back!
changi was awesome.
everything was awesome.
you should have seen the scenery, it was out of this world!
the sea were shades of light blue and dark blue, and you could see sails floating above the wondrous blue.
it was very windy too and you could see a sea of hair and tees being blown into one direction.
since its in changi, so naturally its near changi airport.
every 5 minutes, a plane will fly over and the roaring sound of the engine would overtake our conversations and the few of us would look up into the sky and see what airline is it.
well, mostly its just SIA, so its boring.
well, i did'nt get a tan.
i got SUNBURNT.
it was suffer and suffer and more suffer for me for the past few days.
my face and hands were lobster red and i keep constraining myself from scratching myself.
it was torture.
now, i'm just a BANGLA lookalike.
a LOOKALIKE.
i mean, not that i'm racist or anything,
just that pavan is lighter than me.
oh no.
that is NOT GOOD.
and right now, this instant,
i am peeling like never before.
well maybe except for the time when i went to get my star2 kayak course.
SIGH!
i look so terrible right now that i just feel like locking up myself in my room and not coming out till it has all peeled out.

i cant.
for obvious reasons. duh

just came back from my grandma's house.

whew.
what a different sunday today is.
had a couple of changes and life sure feels altered.
firstly, it was my very first lesson with my new cell group.
it was pretty weird at first, but i think everyone started to open up after a few jokes here and there.
i guess i was pretty much wrong about this whole splitting up situation.
and i also pretty much screwed up my relationship with some of my fellow peers.
i just wanna say, i'm sorry, if i in any way offended you.
i know that life will be full of changes but, the thing is, am i ready to challenge myself,
and accept what life thrust into my hands?
i guess not.
but, i am willing to learn to work under these type of situation and not screw up again.
also, just wanna say that i'm ready to face my new group with confidence and perkiness/enthusiasm i had with my previous cell group.

anyway, on a happier note, my cousin is back from the US.
its really great having her back.

and finally, I AM OUT OF CHOIR.
after all these years of lamenting about how we have to skip all the fun at the foyer with the other youths, its finally freedom for us.

i've come to realise that hollywood can be so much more educational.
i mean, HECK!
i learn SO much more on the internet than in school.
teachers and parents, u can skip this part and pretend that u never saw ANYTHING.
well, take for example.
i went into junkfeud right, and there's this post on the jan 2nd where LA explains it all.
i'll tell u what was educational for me:(as i directly quote)

it was awesome!
i was expecting some cheesy over-animated film or sth like that.
but no! it turned out to be one of the best films i've watched so far.

happy boxing day everyone!
its sale sale and more sales everywhere in singapore!
matchmade in heaven for all females.
anyway, in most countries where we may be fussing about our hair or wad colour our eyes are, or where we may be busy bargaining how low the post-christmas discounts should be with the isetan counter, its is however a sad day for many of those people who have lost their loved ones
last year, this day to the tsunami.
i can still remember, it was roughly around 9am give or take a few minutes, that i was awoken vigourously by my dad from my dreams to find myself running downstairs barefooted coz of the earthquake. and when i was downstairs, i still thought that it was only medan(the place i was :its somewhere in indonesia) that got hit by the earthquake.
who knew, that it turned out to be one of the worst natural disaster in a long time.
and that back in Aceh and Phuket, people were running for their lives, clinging on to their dear lives and some being helplessly and lifelessly thrown and swallowed into the sea by the huge tsunami.
sigh, life is really that fragile huh.
one minute u may be enjoying the scrambled egg on ur breakfast plate, then the next minute, POOF! gone.
just like that.
WOW.
well, i just wanna pray that GOD will guide the people who have been affected by the terrible tsunami in any way.
and may we also continue to help them in any way we can, be it in prayers or donations.

i saw a VERY interesting article on 'newpaper' last week.
but was unable to blog about it due to youth camp(will talk more bout it later)
anyway...
it was about this malay wedding in malaysia.
so... what's soooo interesting about this wedding?
well the thing is that, there were actually TWO weddings at the same time.
and BOTH brides and grooms were twins.
so in layman's terms, a pair of twin sisters married a pair of twin brothers.
how cool is that?
and so,... u may be thinking...
what's so interesting bout that? there are many twin weddings that happened before.
but wait...
that's not all..
the flower girls, the pageboys and the bridesmaid were ALL TWINS.
so in total, there were FIVE pairs of twins at the wedding.

i went to watch HOLLYWOOD HOLIDAY ON ICE on sunday.
it was FANTASTIC!
the iceskaters were just absolutely fabulous.
it was really beautiful.
and the music was really great. most of it was oldies from like way back in the 60s, 70s.
so u could like hear some adults singing to the songs. (:
that guy in the pic performed as james bond.
and he even jumped through a hoop of fire!
it was so freaking awesome.
they said that they would be back next year,
so maybe i'll go watch it again next year.

i'm BACKKKK!!!!!
i know all of you have been so patiently waiting for any news update on my blog.
well, for starters... i'm back from PEC camp!
it was ULTRA-SUPER-DUPER fun.
well, kinda.
i was really psyched bout the camp... and now, its over...
sob...sob
never mind.
i'll always have the memories with me although i did'nt take any pictures since i was afraid my precious camera would get lost/stolen. and of course, i didn't have a phone.
BLAH.
anyway.... we played alot and the food was'nt too bad.
our dorm consisted of 2 storeys and i slept on the 2nd storey.
along with amanda, zarraphina, limying, adeline, andrea and divinia.
it was fun!
on the first day, we had to do the rope course and learn all the rope basics for next year's sec 3 camp, as camp counselors , we r supposed to know all of it and guide the sec 3s.
i love the flying fox! it was thrilling and i screamed all the way.(its much nicer that way)
it was a short distance unlike our sec3 camp (i forgot the name of the campsite),
but it was like at the starting u totally shoot down 90degrees and then u fly all the way.
BLOODDY AWESOME!
we were supposed to go night walking that nite, but fortunately for alot of us... it started to rain very heavily right after mr.gage's "ghost story" that was about crying bleeding cows...
stupid...
it even made some of the girls cry.
ay. i didn't cry okaay.
anyway... then mr lian decided to postpone it to the next nite.
so the next morning, we went mountain biking. it was nice..
tiring .. but nice.
shiok.
then THE nite came that all of us dreaded for.
the nite walk!
our campsite was next to the jungle okaay.
it was bloody dark.
and well, i chickened out. so i went to team up with jane. (we were supposed to go alone)
but... nevermind, alot of those "brave" girls who went alone also ended up meetin each other halfway in the dark and narrow track.
so yar... i guess my teaming up with jane was'nt so cowardly after all.
then...
it was soon the end of the camp, and amanda and me was put in charge of
supervising the clean-up since we were the camp commanders. well, i was the co- camp commander.
i did'nt manage to get a tan since it was rainy and windy and there was not much sun to sun tan with.
sad huh...
yea, and now i having muscle cramps all over.
and after camp finished at 11am, i went to lunch with my mum at crystal jade(more bout it later), and after lunch, i slept all the way till this morning.
yep, i was THAT tired.
so that's bout it.

sooo.... people.
i've just came back from what i feel is the MOST embarrasing walk down orchard road.
my mom apparently had the urge to take us to orchard rd to take videos and photos of the christmas lightings there.
so i went....
but... i didnt know tt at first...
i didnt know tt i was going to orchard road... i thought we were going to fetch my mum's friends home... or rather to the hotel.
so...
i just dressed casually in my OP t-shirt and a short pant that SCREAMS home wear.
and i had to walk down one of singapore's most populated place wearing THAT!
and i walked with my mum's friend, her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend.
oh GAWD! i cannot die of more embarrasment..
oh well, actually i can...
but... i mean... really, it was OUTRAGEOUSLY embarrasing.
walking down orchard like i'm going to the neighbourhood kopitiam while in the midst of well-dressed people. and also... i noticed(well, kind of long ago)that caplets are IN!!! and to think that my mum has a caplet and i dont!

it may sound weird that a young teenager like me to like and listen to songs like these...
but u see, i grew up listening to these kind of music and my family has like a whole entire library collection on songs sang in the 70s, 80s or early 90s.

this is my all time favourite person.
lindsay lohan.
she rocks.
i mean, c'mon, she can beat hilary duff ANY DAY.
DUH.
anyway, i love this song she sang on the movie sountrack for "confessions of a teenage drama queen".
LOVE that movie by the way. ((:
i feel that this song is really deep and meaningful. its about wanting to help change the world today, like poverty.
